A tragic rollover crash in Shelby County, Alabama, has claimed the life of 31-year-old Zachary A. Fogle, known to family and friends as Zach Fogle. The Calera resident died early Sunday morning, November 1, 2026, after the vehicle he was traveling in left the roadway and overturned near Pelham.

The fatal accident happened at approximately 2:56 a.m. on Alabama 119, about one mile north of Pelham, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).

Authorities reported that Fogle was a passenger in a 2020 Mercedes-Benz AMG C63 when the vehicle left the road, struck an embankment and overturned. During the rollover, Fogle was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to investigators, Fogle was not wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred.

Two Other People Injured in Shelby County Crash

The accident also left two other occupants of the Mercedes-Benz injured.

The driver, a 31-year-old man from Chelsea, Alabama, and another passenger, a 30-year-old woman from Birmingham, were transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for medical treatment.

Authorities have not provided further details about the extent of their injuries.

The crash occurred along Alabama 119 near mile marker 23. The location is approximately one mile north of Pelham in Shelby County.

Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal rollover. Officials have not publicly confirmed what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway.
